This week in Nursery, we continued reading the story “The River”. We worked collaboratively to make a river for our fish (from last week) to swim in. We used paint and rollers to try and make the motion of water. On Thursday, we learnt all about beavers. The children recalled that beavers have 2 sharp teeth, they live near water and they like to eat plants. The children then had their own beaver challenge to build a damn to block the water flow!
In maths, we have been learning about repeated patterns. We learnt that a pattern is something that happens over and over again. The children enjoyed playing the game “line up” on busy things and exploring patterns in their choosing time. Some children even found and made repeated patterns in their lunch boxes!
At forest school, we decorated the trees! Using masking tape, we stuck natural resources like sticks, flowers and leaves to the trees. The children loved this activity and Lucy said ‘I hope everyone else loves the trees as much as we love them!’
Our sound of the week was “y”. On our sound hunt we discovered yellow, yak, yoghurt and a yacht!
