Last week in Nursery we started our new book ‘The River’ by Patricia Hegarty which tells us all about the epic journey of a fish to the sea. We made our own fish and the children were taking them on journeys around Nursery.
In phonics we have been learning the sound ‘w’, the children used the sand timer to take it in turns to wear a wig and used chalk and black paper to draw webs!
We were also lucky enough to have a double decker bus visit the Nursery, the children enjoyed being able to explore the lower and upper decks, ring the bell and talk about the journeys they would like to take on the bus!
In math, we have been describing a sequence of events, activities ranged from recalling key parts of the story book ‘The River’ and putting them in the correct order to discussing our morning and evening routines.
The children have also been enjoying the new role play which is now a cafe.
We finished the week on Friday afternoon with a calming session of yoga with Miss Dixon!
