In Reception we we enjoyed exploring the story of Supertato in our literacy lessons. The children loved listening to the exciting adventures of Supertato and Evil Pea. We talked about the different characters, retold parts of the story and discussed how Supertato helps his friends. This fun book helped develop imagination, speaking and early writing skills while encouraging a love of reading.
In Maths the children have been learning about ordering numbers. We practiced ordering numbers in the correct order. We used practical activities such as counting objects and placing numbers in sequence to help develop our understanding. It has been wonderful to see the children enjoying maths while building there number knowledge.
During our book week the children have explored a range of exciting stories and talked about their favourite characters and books. We spent time listening to stories, discussing what happened in them, and predicting what might happen next. The children also enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book characters and sharing their costumes with their friends. Throughout the week, we encouraged the children to talk about books, retell parts of stories, and draw pictures of their favourite moments. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm for reading and storytelling in our classroom!
