Pegasus problem-solving and working with the NCETM!

At Pegasus, we believe that all children can achieve in maths and we have been working with the NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics) to develop a project that is applying current research on how children learn to problem-solve. Sixteen members of staff across Pegasus and practitioners from our NCETM Hub worked together on this project, planning and then teaching two problem-solving lessons in Saturn class and Shooting Stars class.

Mr. Winborn, Mrs. Roberts, Ms. Bauchop and Mr. Kelly were very proud of Saturn class and their excellent problem-solving strategies and attitudes to learning.

Pegasus is looking forward to working closely with the maths hub over the next year and sharing our excellent maths practice.
