WHJUN standing together for Jamaica🫶

🫶Today, our school family came together in a spirit of love, care, and solidarity to support our Jamaican friends and families who have been affected by Hurricane Melissa. In partnership with the Croydon BME Forum, Pegasus schools across the borough joined in a special mufti day to raise funds for the relief effort.

At the Whitehorse Manor Junior and Infant Schools, our children proudly dressed in the vibrant colours of the Jamaican flag—black, green, and gold—and raised an incredible £350. Each colour carries a powerful meaning: black represents the strength and resilience of the people, green stands for the lush beauty and hope of the land, and gold symbolises the natural wealth and shining spirit of Jamaica. Together, these colours reminded us of the courage and unity that bind communities in times of hardship.

Across Croydon, the collective goal is to raise £5,000 to help provide urgently needed school equipment, resources, and support for affected schools in Jamaica. We are proud to play our part in this borough-wide effort.

We send our heartfelt wishes of strength and recovery to all our Jamaican community members. May our shared compassion bring comfort and hope in the days ahead.
