WHINF – On your marks, get set, bake!

It’s been a busy week in Year 2 right across the Trust, as we have been completing our healthy muffins project. Linking together our science and DT learning, we have researched, designed, made and evaluated healthy muffins and their packaging.

On Thursday morning at Whitehorse, Year 2 assembled in the hall to weigh and measure, tip and pour, peel and chop and stir and scoop. Some of us learned new skills as we made our mixture and scooped in into cake cases ready for baking. In order to make our muffins a more balanced snack, we added fruit or vegetables. Even a fire drill couldn’t hold back our enthusiasm!

After patiently waiting, we ended our day by tasting our muffins. The result: delicious!
