This week in the Reception, we have been reading the book, ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’. The children enjoyed acting out the story using props that they made. They used their engineering skills to create a bridge the goats could use to cross a river. They worked in small groups to create a book retelling the story by each writing a page. Lots of goat and troll craft have been made.
In mathematics, the children have been finding different ways to make six. They have practiced writing number sentences to accompany their work. They have also been recapping doubling and odds and evens.
The weather has been beautiful, so the children have spent a lot of time outside. Den building has been popular as a way of getting out of the sun!
