Extended Services and Clubs

Extended services is the name used in education to describe clubs and activites that take place outside of normal school hours.  The Pegasus Academy Trust places considers supporting working parents through ‘wraparound care’ and the development of the whole child through extra curricular ‘activity’ clubs to be very important and has a whole team within the Trust dedicated to extended services.

In the academic year 2016-17 schools within the Trust had had a huge variety of activity clubs such as  African dance, multi skills (aimed at improving hand/eye co-ordination) recorders and archery, to name but a few.  The schools within The Pegasus Academy Trust also come together to organise a ‘family fun day’  each year and Suzanne Christopher organises trips to the London Marathon, the Lord Mayor’s show and Panto.

The process for applying for clubs is organised by Suzanne Christopher and your child will get a letter informing you about which clubs will be offered and to which year groups.

Booking for activities, trips and after school club care via ‘MagicBooking’

The Trust has recently changed the way we manage the booking of our services for our activity clubs. We are now using ‘My Play Service’ – also known as ‘MagicBooking’. Go to –

Cypress Primary School parents/carers are unable to login at the moment as accounts are being generated and we hope to have this ‘live’ for spring clubs starting on the 29th January 2018.

Parents/carers will need to pass on their emails to the school office so that we can generate a login for your account.

All payments for activity clubs are taken through this provider. You will have to make an online payment only if you wish your child to take part in an activity club, through the “MyPlay” service. Once payment has been received your child will get a place on an activity – if there are enough spaces available. Our advice is to book a club as soon as it beomes live, as our activity clubs are popular and spaces are limited. Clubs run for seven weeks or eight sessions each term depending on public holiday and training days.

Indicative costs are about £25 for a set of seven sessions and less if your child is entitled to remission as per our policy.

On the day that clubs go ‘live’ for booking you will need to already have registered and then login to book a club.

Spring Clubs 2018

Spring Clubs will be starting on Monday 29th January for 7 weeks.

NOTE FOR CYPRESS PRIMARY:

We have a range of clubs that will be on offer at Cypress Primary in January:

Cypress Upper –  Cheerleading, Netball, Textiles and Sewing, Football Y3-4 and Football Y5-6, Tennis, Basketball, Street dance, Steel Pans, Music Production-DJ and Art.

Cypress Lower – Martial Arts, Football, Art, Ballet, Board games and Mini-sports.

Parents will be sent out a letter at the beginning of January to inform them of the clubs on offer and how to book a club. We will be able to use the ‘Magicbooking’ service if all parents/carers have informed the school office of their emails, as we want to make the process as fair as possible for all parents. If we do not feel that the ‘Magicbooking’ is ready in that timeframe than we will offer an alternative way for parents to book which we will keep you informed at the beginning of January.  With your help we may try a ‘dummy run’ before Christmas.

We really appreciate your support at this time and we hope that these positive changes will improve the services we have on offer.

We may still have additional clubs that we can add to the spring clubs which will need to be confirmed. If parents would like to suggest any activities that they would like for their child/ren to attend please send me an email and we will try to source a coach to accomodate your requests.
