In celebration of Black History Month and inspired by Lord Kitchener’s song ‘No Work on Carnival Day,’ Year 6 celebrated in true carnival style!
This week, children in Year 6 have been learning about the history, music, food and costumes of Notting Hill Carnival. Not only were the children wearing their cultural and bright clothing with pride, but they were also wearing a beautifully decorative mask, which we made in the week. There was an explosion of colour and music as we paraded around the field.
We have all enjoyed learning about Caribbean culture this week and we ended the half term with a bang!
