We’ve had a lovely day in the sun at Cypress and it’s been great to see everyone enjoying our wonderful school grounds. Please remember to name your child’s jumpers as this time of year our lost property boxes are overflowing!
We hope that everyone celebrating Eid had a fantastic time and we have been learning about this festival in school this week.
Well done to those who received Rainbow certificates in assembly at the Lower School today. Our word of the week at the lower site is royal, so please post your sentences into the golden box for a chance to win a rosette. At the Upper Site, the word of the week is disgust so please send your entries in to Ms Binks.
Next week we are celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Please click here to read the letter for the Lower School and the letter for the Upper School. All children (and staff!) are invited to dress up in red, white and blue or as Kings and Queens next Friday 13th May. There are lots of exciting activities planned to mark this special occasion and we can’t wait to share a very special news story with you all next week.
If your child is in Year 6 they will be sitting their SATs next week and we are already so proud of all their hard work. Just as it says on our ‘Pegasus people’ poster, they can be proud of themselves and proud of each other. After a very disrupted two years they will be the first to resume SATs and have gone about that task with determination and a positive attitude. We know they are well prepared and will apply the knowledge they have learned, even when questions may look tricky. The SATS don’t test lots of important things about the qualities that our children have but we can see that they’ve been resilient, good humoured and kind to each other in the run up to these tests. They should relax this weekend having worked so hard. We wish them good luck for Monday and please remember that breakfast is available from 8.30am Monday to Thursday in the school hall next week.
