Cypress: Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all of our Cypress families!  We hope you have had a restful holiday.  We have had a fantastic start to the spring term, thinking about our goals for the rest of the academic year and developing our speaking and listening skills – we will continue to develop these specific skills next week.

At the Lower School this week children have been busy thinking about their New Year’s resolutions and how they can achieve them.  We’ve seen some fabulous writing in Year 1 and Year 2 and they have all come back with a very positive attitude towards learning.  Our children in Reception have been reading ‘Spider Sandwiches’ and enjoyed reading a letter written to them from Max, asking for their help in making sandwiches and sequencing instructions to do so.  Forest School returns next week for Red, Orange and Blue class this half term.

At the Upper School, small group tuition (after school) and Lexia Club begins again from next week as does Forest School.  Year 4 will also begin Cricket lessons on Fridays of this term with Platform, at South Norwood Lakes.  A copy of the letter can be found here.

Cypress Superstars

Only three days in and we are off to a flying start!  Well done to Nicolas, Lara, Sam and Antonia, who wrote a very emotional and thoughtful letter in the role of the American explorer, Matthew Henson.  Great use of ambitious and emotive language!

Well done to Sophie and Tyler from the Lower School for their fantastic writing, describing their toy hunt in school this week.

We hope everyone has a great weekend!
