Whinf: Easter Learning Adventures: Croc Goes to the Dentist and Maths Fun!

In literacy we celebrated Easter and focused on developing our reading and writing skills through fun activities. We used the story Crop Goes to the Dentist to help us practise our focus and understanding. First, we listened carefully to the story and discussed what happened, identifying the main events and characters. Then, we worked on sequencing how to brush our teeth, putting events in the correct order to show our comprehension. These activities helped improve our concentration, listening skills, and ability to write clear sentences. Overall, it was an engaging and enjoyable way to link a seasonal celebration with our literacy learning while building important skills.

In Maths we learned about odd and even numbers in a fun and simple way. We used cubes, counters, and toys to make groups and see if they could be shared equally. If the groups were fair, we said the number was even. If one was left over, we said it was odd. This helped us understand the difference by seeing it for ourselves. We also learned about doubles. We practised doubling up to 5 using our fingers and objects. We sang songs and played games to help us remember our doubles. On Thursday we celebrated Maths Day 2026! Fun was had by everyone.

These activities helped us build confidence with numbers and made learning maths exciting and enjoyable.

Have a lovely holiday!
