We have had a lovely few weeks settling into nursery. A lot of the focus has been on personal, social and emotional development which has helped the children feel comfortable in their new surroundings, start to make friends and become more independent in their self care. It has been a pleasure to watch the children interact with each other and start to make new friends. This week we started reading the story book ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell which helps the children to understand that their grown up will always return to them and encourages lots of talk about families. In rhyme time we have been learning the nursery rhyme ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’ and have been completing lots of fun activities alongside this. In maths we have been learning all about the number 1 and the children have been learning our number 1 jingle, ‘1 jelly on a plate.’
This week we are continuing to read ‘Owl Babies’ and singing ‘Twinkle, twinkle little star’ whilst moving onto number 2 for our maths focus.
