WHINF The Big Red Bus!

This week in Nursery we have been reading the story book ‘The Big Red Bus’ by Judy Hindley. The children have enjoyed taking their own bus rides in our new role play area and have been demonstrating excellent sharing skills by using the sand timer to take turns being the driver! The children have embraced the new vocabulary from the book and we have enjoyed solving the problem of choosing the best material to fix the hole in the road! We have been learning the nursery rhyme ‘The Grand Old Duke of York’ and our sound of the week was ‘l.’ The children made puppets to support their performance of the nursery rhyme and enjoyed exploring the ‘l’emon and ‘l’ime water relating to our sound of the week.

In maths we have been recognising and writing numerals and have been making the most of this lovely weather with bubbles and the water tray in the outside area.

We hope you have a lovely bank holiday and look forward to welcoming the children back on Tuesday 5th May.
