WHINF Chuff, Chuff! Toot Toot, off we go in gold class!

This week in nursery we have continued with our transport topic and have been reading the story book ‘The Train Ride’ by June Crebbin. We have had lots of conversations about places we have been to on a train and have had fun drawing pictures of what we saw out of the window during our journey. We even went on our own journey around the school, whilst pretending to be a train!

This week has also been nursery science week and we have been doing lots of experiments, a favourite being the coke and Mentos volcano experiment, which tied in nicely with our sound of the week which was ‘V.’

Another book we have enjoyed reading was ‘ The Blue Balloon’ by Mick Inkpen. This led us into doing some great science experiments with balloons, the children found it particularly amusing to watch the balloon wizz around the air when it was blown up and let go and were amazed to see how rubbing a balloon on your jumper can make it stick to the ceiling!

We are making the most of the nice weather while it lasts and have been spending lots of time outside, burying ourselves in the sandpit, washing babies and lots of construction work!

We hope you have a lovely half term break and look forward to seeing all the children back in school on the 2nd June.
