We have been celebrating Black History Month, with a key focus on recognising and celebrating the invaluable contributions and achievements of Black men and women through history. The theme this year was ‘Standing Firm in Power and Pride’. We have decorated the school entrance with banners, streamers, books and our fantastic learning.
Children had the opportunity to learn about key people, listen to stories and music. We have also had special assemblies in school.
Every year group has been learning about Black History in their lessons and on Wednesday we had a celebratory ‘Show and Tell’ assembly where every class shared their learning. We had some excellent posters, poems, examples of our writing and pieces of art.
