This week children at Brigstock enjoyed science workshops as part of the Royal Institutes Science In Schools Program. The workshop theme was ‘We have the Power’. It focused on the use and chemistry of fossil fuels and their effect on climate change as well as the physics and chemistry of storing electricity. The children left the sessions reflecting on the fact that we need to stop burning things and instead consider other alternatives to fulfil our future energy needs.
