In Reception this week, the children have been reading ‘The Leaf Thief’ by Alice Hemming. 

The children have had another fantastic week of learning!  In phonics, they learned four new sounds: ‘h’, ‘b’, ‘f’, and ‘l’, alongside the tricky words is, I, and the. 

This week, Reception have started demonstrating their phonics and reading skills through reading practice, and they will take their first reading books home today that they have been practicing in class! 

In Reception, the children have had a great deal of fun sharing information about themselves and their families. 

Reception children have continued to settle so quickly and well; we are incredibly proud of them.
