What a fantastic week of learning and discovery we’ve had in Reception! Here is a little peek at what we’ve been up to:
This week, we dived into the story ‘The Leaf Thief’ by Alice Hemming. The book sparked so much curiosity as the children turned into Autumn detectives, investigating why the trees are losing their leaves and learning all about the changing season. We went on an exciting Autumn walk around the school grounds, spotting all the warm seasonal colours, before heading back to the classroom to create some beautiful Autumn inspired artwork! In maths, we have been busy exploring the number 5. The children loved discovering that we have 5 fingers on each hand and finding out how a ‘high five’ got its name. In phonics, the children have been using all the sounds we have learnt this half term to write and build CVC words. They did an amazing job showing off their reading and writing skills!
Thank you all for another week filled with big smiles and brilliant learning. We hope you have a lovely, relaxing half term!
