Thirty four extremely excited year 6 children piled onto the coach this morning. Incredibly, they managed to sing, talk and laugh for the whole hour and a half journey to Cuffley!
This is the first time that we have opted for cabins rather than tents at Cuffley and the general consensus is that the cabins are wonderful! Comfy bunk beds, heating and no insects!!! After a delicious lunch, we went for a nature hike where the children learnt about the best fungi and bark to use as kindling to make a camp fire. The children were also able to explore huge craters made by bombs in WWII. The afternoon was rounded off with climbing, abseiling and shelter building. We ended the evening around a campfire and celebrated Joshua’s birthday.

All in all, it’s been a fantastic first day of camp!
