All the children were delighted to welcome back (albeit virtually) Alim Kamara to Ecclesbounre today. This morning he treated all the KS2 children to a whistle stop educational and inspirational tour of Black British History and introduced us to Cheddar man and and the Gall Peters Projection World Map helping us to understand the true size of Africa. This afternoon he shared the story of the Hat Maker and the Monkeys with the KS1 children helping them to develop their own storytelling skills and becoming Djeli (story tellers) themselves. We all learnt the mantra “I. Am Awesome”. All in all it was a fantastic experience and we look forward to welcoming Alim Kamara back in person as soon as possible.
