News Atwood Primary School

On Thursday, the whole school enjoyed a riotous performance of Treasure Island. 

Singing could be heard all over the early years during the last few weeks as everyone prepared for this weeks performances. 

This week has seen Atwood take to the stage with 7 Christmas performances and a Rock and Roll concert from Rocksteady. 

It has been a week of wonderful shows at Atwood with 7 performances across a range of classes and ages. 

On Wednesday, Year 2 had their ‘Tudor Day’. All the children made a fantastic effort with their costumes and really looked the part!

Shadufs As part of their design and technology learning, the children in Year 6 have been making shadufs. 

Year 5 enjoyed taking part in a range of fun activities on Viking day. 

Last week was a very busy week for Year 1 as we visited the Science Museum on Thursday. 

Last Tuesday, Year 1 had a fantastic time at All Saints Church learning about the Christmas story. 

To start this week’s learning about the Nativity, the Reception children went on their first trip out and visited Sanderstead Methodist Church.

Christmas is really beginning to get a grip at Atwood and this week we finished the week with everyone in Christmas jumpers for their Christmas lunch. 

It is starting to look a lot like Christmas in the Early Years, especially as a lot of the crafts made at Christmas Making day are hanging up in all of the classrooms.

This week, the year 6 netball team played their first league matches of the season.
