BRIG-New living Willow tunnel
Many of you would have noticed our new living willow tunnel.

As a partner borough of the Mayor of London’s Pan-London Anti-Idling programme ‘Idling Action London’, Croydon Council invited Whitehorse Manor Junior School and the Brigstock Annex site to host Air Quality workshops.
Another fantastic book week at Brigstock. Children enjoyed visits and talks by authors and poets and Year 5 had particular fun during their ‘reading cafe’ sessions.
It was lovely to see the creative efforts of the children today during Museum Day.
Willow class have been learning all about Chinese New Year. As part of their learning they created their own dragon and created a dragon dance!
Miss Fernandes set her class the the task of designing an image based around a Sikh symbol as part of their studies around religion.
Year 2 had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting with Mr Twit this week.
As part of our thematic learning, Year 6 have been studying the Ancient Egyptian irrigation mechanism for taking water from the River Nile to irrigate their crops.
New Risk Assessment (RA) January 2022 With the emergence of the Omicron variant we now need to make certain changes to our working practices within our schools in order to ensure all our children and staff are safe.

This half term, Year 6 have been learning about suffragettes and their fight to gain the right to vote for women through the fantastic book ‘Suffragettes – The Battle for Equality’ by David Roberts.
On the last Friday of term there is often a feeling of celebration that we have done all that we set out to do in September and have ‘made it’ to the Christmas holidays.
The year 5 children have been very creative with socks and birdseed this week!
Today the children enjoyed a lovely Christmas lunch. Thank you to our chefs and kitchen staff who created a lovely Christmas spread-there wasn’t much left!
This week year 2 children designed and made their own biscuits and biscuit packaging during their DT session.
