Willow class delivered a wonderfully thought-provoking assembly today. We thought about what it was like to be a soldier during World War I; children recited John McCrae’s ‘In Flanders Fields’ perfectly and with great emotion. We considered the lives of the soldiers who put down their arms and played football together on Christmas Day in 1914. There were also witty skits and a very apt song by The Farm – ‘Altogether Now’. The most powerful message this morning was one of hope and peaceful resolution of conflict. What a perfect way to end the week and a fantastic lead into Friendship Week on Monday. Well done Ms Tamby and Ms Simadree and a huge well done to Willow Class!
