CYP Upper: Highlights of the week!

This week we have been thinking about inclusiveness and using our learning powers, particularly, the ability to make links to previous knowledge to help us learn and using our imagination to create and rehearse ideas. We have also been wearing red today to raise awareness of inequalities and to show that we, as a community, celebrate diversity. We also wore red to recognise that we have so much in common and are the same in so many ways!

We loved Holly class assembly  this morning! We learned facts about fossil collector and paleontologist, Mary Anning and heard about Holly class’ recent Jurassic discovery in the school grounds. We were then treated to poems about the fossils they found. Well done Holly class and thank you to Miss Pumphrey for helping the children deliver a wonderful assembly.

Well done to Abby for receiving her gold certificate for reading 60 books; a big well done also to Poppy for writing an amazing persuasive speech as Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins. Theon wrote a fantastic story inspired by the story ‘The Dancing Bear’ by Michael Murpurgo! We have some very talented authors at Cypress! Our word wizard this week was Mercy in Sycamore class for using the word ‘reticent’ perfectly in a sentence. Mercy received our word wizard rosette for correct use of adventurous language.

Please note that today was the last day for reply slips for the Christmas Lunch which is on the 9th December. The festive spirit continues with Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 11th December.

If you would like to watch the Holly class assembly again, you can do so below.
