This week, Year 2 have taken themselves off to Tobago with Gregory Cool. We have enjoyed discovering what Tobago is like and have explored how Gregory felt about being in a place so different to his home. At the beginning of the story, Gregory felt very homesick and found the culture very difficult to get used to. Given some time, his experiences became more enjoyable and he wondered whether Tobago wouldn’t be so bad after all. We enjoyed creating a ‘Conscience Alley’ where half of us tried to persuade Gregory to stay in Tobago and the other half tried to convince him to go back home. This really helped us to develop reasoning and give our own opinions.
