What an exciting week! During Science week, the children have been learning about life cycles and have had the chance to watch some eggs hatch. The eggs have been kept warm in an incubator and the children have been on 'chicken watch' waiting for the eggs to hatch! On Wednesday morning, the first cracks started to show and we were very excited to see the first chick born (in Lilac class!) just after the children had arrived in school. Over the next few days we watched as the chicks were born one by one, staying warm in their incubator whilst their feathers dried. We then transferred them to their hutch and took turns to look after them and kept a 'chicken diary' to record our observations.
