Year 2 had a fantastic day out in London today with a train ride to London Bridge and trek to the summit of Monument. Braving a massive 311 steps, children were exhausted upon reaching the top, but the view was most certainly worth it. They were there as part of the work that they have been doing in class on ‘The Great Fire of London’. Monument itself was built in 1671, five years after ‘The Great Fire’.
For some, it was their very first trip into Central London and they were thrilled to see famous sites such as The Shard, Europe’s tallest building. They also saw The Tower of London, The Gherkin and St Paul’s Cathedral. It was a hugely enjoyable day for everyone involved.
