Last Thursday, the Year 2 children at Ecclesbourne spent the day at Morden Hall Country Park as part of their science studies on Living Things and their Habitats. The children got to explore the park for minibeasts. They took part in two workshops where they investigated all the places they might find insects. Lifting logs and rocks provided an opportunity for close observation of all sorts of creatures. The second workshop involved pond dipping and learning about creatures that live in or on the water. The children asked lots of excellent questions and found out a range of amazing facts to use in their writing back in school. The sun shone and everyone arrived back at school a little bit exhausted but thoroughly enthused for the science topic.
