Year 2 have been learning about life cycles in science this term and have looked at life cycles of a frog, a butterfly and a duck. The children were surprised with the arrival of ducklings which were going to hatch any day. As they waited in anticipation the ducklings soon began to peck out of their shells with their egg tooth. It was amazing to see them swim and dive when they were put into water. How wonderful it was! One child said ‘I can’t believe how fast they have grown!’ Some of our ducklings were a little bit cheeky as they were jumping on top of the heater and others were trying to read. It was a lovely experience for the children!
