This week in year 1, we have continued to deepen our understanding of maps. We combined our knowledge of geography with our art and DT skills to design and create a 3D map of an island. Children used different materials to make the map’s key features. We enjoyed creating different landmarks on our map such as caves, volcanoes and beaches. We then used our compass directions to describe where the features were on our map to our friends.
