Our Y1 classes had a fabulous time this week learning about Claude Monet and his famous garden at Giverny.
Inspired by his revolutionary way to work outside, we went out to sketch and do some rubbings of tree leaves and barks. We looked closely at details and made some observational drawings of trees and flowers.
We also explored how Monet built up colours in his paintings by mixing and dabbing shades of blue, green or pink.
CYP classes created collective collages of trees, while BINF classes made collective collages of the waterlily pond!
What an amazing achievement! We hope you enjoy reading some of our nature-based poems too.
