Searching for Spirals

For ‘Art Week’, Year 6 have been learning about the Fibonacci sequence of numbers.  We have discovered that Fibonacci numbers can be found in many places and and can be used to form spirals. These spirals, known as ‘Golden Spirals’ can be found throughout the natural world.

Armed with this knowledge, Year 6 set off to the wilderness of Grangewood Park. We searched high and low for spiral patterns and used the outdoors as a source of inspiration for our observational sketches and collage work.

We hope you enjoy looking through a selection of our pictures below.
