WHINF-Last week of term…

Whilst it may be the last week of term we definitely haven’t seen a lack of enthusiasm from our children for their learning.

Reception children have been working with number bonds and number sentences this week and getting creative designing their own masks as demonstrated by Muhammad and Jinxuan below.  Gregory in Red class even made time to use instructions to make a bird feeder out of an old milk container.  This required him to take measurements up to 20cm and work out how to find the half of a measure.  He then put some porridge oats and barley inside and hung it up to feed the birds during the recent snowy weather-how lovely!

Year one have been studying features of information posters this week and used their developing knowledge to create their own recycling posters.  I leant some great facts from looking at all their wonderful examples on the class blogs, Nia, Elijah and Fatima’s particularly stood out-well done!

Year two have continued their work on clocks this week and it was lovely to see that even in week two of their ‘Time’ topic the children are really working hard to extend their knowledge.  Nabil’s work below is a fantastic example of this.

We celebrated Gold Award this week and the teachers found it very tricky to pick just two children from their classes who aptly represented ‘Independent Learners’ because all the children have been doing such a great job of learning at home.

Thank you to all the staff, parents and carers who have supported the children through learning online this half term.

We wish everyone a restful half term.
