On Wednesday, we enjoyed Sports Day. It was so lovely to see all our parents and carers back on the school grounds and to enjoy time with you! The children had a great time. We were also exceptionally lucky with the weather! The children enjoyed a carousel of activities, some races, and then a class v. class tug of war. We are so proud of all of the children, particularly those who took part in individual races. It takes courage and determination to race and represent your class; well done for your efforts! A big well done to all children in Athens, who gained the most points and who were the overall winning House! Special thanks to Mr St Aimee, who organised the event and thank you to the teachers, who helped the event run so smoothly.
It was also lovely to have our Year 2 children, who will be joining us in September, log in to our Monday assembly. They will be doing this for the remaining weeks so they can begin to familiarise themselves with teachers and headship at Cypress Upper. We are excited to see you again on Monday!

Beech Class Assembly
Well done to Beech class, who wrote and delivered a class assembly this morning. It was very informative and filled with funny moments. It makes me very proud to hear how you worked independently to create your assembly. It was so amazing to hear about how Building Learning Power has helped support you in your learning and what it means to you. You delivered your lines with great confidence – I am so very excited for the end of year performance! Thank you to Miss Binks, Ms Prideaux, Mrs Sa Walmsley and Miss Brewer for facilitating this.

Well done also to Leah (Cedar) who won the Golden Lock competition. This is the second time she has won! Flora also completed her Pegasus person bookmark and received a prize; you are an amazing role model to others Flora! Lucy in Cedar class was our Word Wizard this week! Congratulations to you, Lucy! She used the word ‘monstrous’ perfectly in an ambitious, independent sentence. The word of the week this week is ‘animated’.
