Year 2 had a great time this morning testing whether a paper plane made with a bigger piece of paper would fly further than a paper plan made with a smaller piece of paper. In pairs we had A3, A4 and A5 pieces of sugar paper. We made our planes and predicted which would fly the furthest. Things we thought about were the strength of the wind, the length of our plane and the weight of our plane. After throwing them, some of us measured the distance using our footsteps and others used measuring tapes. Part way through our investigation, the wind decided to no longer be in our friend! Our results were inconclusive, but we had great fun making predictions and using our measuring skills.
