Recently, Year 6 have been learning all about Shakespeare. Last week we learnt all about the bard himself and wrote a non-chronological report on him using features such as headings and subheadings. This week, we focussed on the play ‘Macbeth’. We used powerful language to describe the witches and we analysed Macbeth and his lady wife by thinking about their inner and hidden feelings in contrast to how they are viewed by King Duncan and the rest of Scotland. For our final writing of the Spring term, the children used their imagining skills to become Lady Macbeth and write a monologue persuading Macbeth to kill King Duncan and take his throne.
The children really enjoyed learning all about Shakespeare and his many works. We are so proud of the writing that they have achieved – we hope that you enjoying reading these examples of their work.
