In recent weeks, all of Year 3 at the Pegasus Academy Trust have had the opportunity to visit the Buddhapadipa Temple in Wimbledon as part of our RE topic. When we arrived at the temple, we were greeted by a Buddhist monk who was dressed in his traditional, bright orange robes. He showed us into the temple which, as you can see from the photos, is quite spectacular. After that, he told us about the origins of Buddhism and the religion’s core beliefs which we found very interesting. The monk also sprayed us with holy water as part of a traditional blessing! Overall, it was a very interesting day and we learned lots about Buddhism.
