This week, we have thinking more deeply about planning and using it to consider about our strengths and areas of development. In particular, we have been working hard to identify our obstacles to progress and use strategies to minimise or eliminate them. We are finding we get through so much more learning and produce better outcomes when we plan! We review our plans once we have completed a task – it’s been so interesting to consider at various points in the lesson whether our plan ‘is going to plan’! Class photographs were taken on Tuesday and the children received a card with a QR code marked ‘proof’. Please read the instructions on this card to order your child’s class photo online.
Cedar Assembly
Today, we were treated to a class assembly from Cedar class all about the Stone Age! It was so informative and humorous! We learned some very interesting facts about Neanderthals and saw some art inspired by cave paintings from that period. We cannot wait for the next instalment. Cedar class parents: if you did not manage to see the assembly this morning, or would like to watch it again, please head over to Cedar class blog where it has been uploaded for your enjoyment! Special thanks to Mr Shipley, Miss Challacombe and Ms Francis, for helping to organise such a fantastic assembly and a big thank you and well done to Cedar class!
Bank Holiday
Please remember that Monday is a bank holiday and the school will be closed. School will restart on Tuesday 4th May.

Well done to Tyren (Birch), for some great speech and punctuation work, Astri, Alesha and Joe (Birch) for some very thoughtful and descriptive writing, using their senses to create imagery. Loretta (Hazel) created a very thoughtful acrostic poem about feelings – I really enjoyed reading your poem, Loretta!
Nicole, Tabitha and Lucy: well done for achieving your gold Accelerated Reading certificates! What amazing reading mileage!
Well done all children mentioned this week – you have earned your place on the ‘Wonder Wall’!
