During September the work on site at Whitehorse Manor has continued at a steady pace, aided by the good weather, and most of the building is now watertight. The facade for the admin building has now had all its cedar shingles fitted and much of the birch finish in the new hall is complete. The kitchen has been tiled and services have ben installed. The underfloor heating in the new classroom at the front of the school in complete. Groundworkers have begun building up the floor height at the front of the school so that all entrances are accessible.
The work that has been done now means that the kitchen equipment can be fitted at October half term and that we can get hot school meals back being cooked on the Whitehorse site early in the new half term. We are sure the children will look forward to coming back into the Junior Hall to eat their lunch and getting their food choices from the new servery. Senior staff at both the Whitehorse Schools are impressed by how quiet the new, bigger hall is and this will undoubtedly make both assemblies and lunchtimes more enjoyable for all.
The project is still on course to be finished by Christmas.
