Progress on building work at Whitehorse Manor

December saw a real rush on site prior to the Christmas holidays.  Work in the first floor extension is continuing at a good pace with two of the four classrooms now having fully boarded ceilings and being ready for decorating and carpentry (for cupboards, skirting boards etc.) Downstairs sink units are being fitted as well as the suspended ceiling.  The shingles are nearly complete externally and flashings will now be fitted around these to finish the outside of the building.  The scaffolding should come down around the middle of January once snagging has taken place.  We expect to occupy these buildings in March at which time all four temporary classrooms (currently Year 6 and Year 4) will leave the site.

Scaffolding is now removed from the main hall and the new steel frame is supporting the old structure.  The service trench which brings hot water from the new boiler room under the stage to the junior side of the site should be completed in the second week in January ready for the pipework to be fitted.  Weather permitting we should see the walls at the front of the building beginning to go up in the later part of January
