May progress on building project at Whitehorse Manor

With the weather improving our builders, Morgan Sindall, have had the chance to push on with a number of tasks and we have seen a number of changes recently.  The first thing that a passer by will notice is that the front of the school seems to have moved on a lot recently.  The roof is on the extended hall and is watertight and the roof on the classroom above the old kitchen is 80% complete.  Much complicated brickwork and joinery has been going on and we await the start of the final installation of the 'Tecu' gold metal finish which should start in June.

Over the half term holiday the old nursery was demolished and I have added a few photos of it in its last days as we know that many parents and grandparents also went to this school and might be a little nostalgic!  As far as we can establish the nursery has been there since the 1950's but if anyone has any information on this I'd be most interested to hear about it.  With the nursery now gone we can begin to get a feel for the size of the new playgrounds.  In the holiday a new, smart roof to cover the entrance to the Infant School has been formed and we look forward to seeing this finished.  There will be another update next month on progress on the site in the month of June.
