February progress on building works at Whitehorse Manor

We are now eagerly anticipating being able to get into our new 'phase 2' building next week.  The builders are putting the final touches to this part of the project.  All scaffolding is down and the 'cloister' area now has its ceiling completed.  Inside the hot water and electricity are on and the doors have all been hung.  Internal decoration is nearly complete.  The groundworkers are finishing the courtyard area between the new building and the existing school including laying new drains.  Lockers have been fitted for the children's coats and book bags and toilets are fitted out ready for the building to be occupied.

At the front of the school (phase 3) we are beginning to see workers filling in between the steelwork – which is the first part of forming the walls for the hall.  Lots of brickwork has been put in place to form the new school office, the kitchen and the stairs to the first floor.  In the next fortnight we should see floors poured for the new first floor classroom at the front of the school and the first floor landing at the back.  The anticipated date for the whole of the rest of the project to be completed is in July ready for opening in September.
