The Year 5 children at EPS took a trip to London yesterday to watch a very thought-provoking performance of ‘The Bee in Me’ at The Unicorn Theatre. The play relates the story of a child who must overcome every day challenges through the use of their imagination, perseverance and spirit. It has an important message of ‘Never give up!’ The show used simple staging and clever lighting to excellent effect and really surprised some of the children with how a story can be told without elaborate props and detailed narration.
After the show, we were able to sit in the sunshine and soak up some of the sights of London. We then went on one of Mr Sawh’s guided tours taking in The River Thames, HMS Belfast, Southwark Cathedral, The Golden Hinde and Borough Market. So much to see and do and the children were all excellent ambassadors for Ecclesbourne whilst they were out and about.
