This week year 3 visited Kew gardens as part of their science unit on plants. We had a fantastic time! We spent time with one of the teachers at Kew and learnt how to identify various bees that visit the gardens at Kew. We were split into teams and raced to label different parts of a plant; after that, we discussed their functions. We also spent time looking at flowers and discussed the different ways that flowers can be pollinated. After lunch, we spent time exploring the grounds. We couldn’t believe how big it was! There are some amazing blown glass and metal sculptures on show at Kew created by Dale Chihuly. We were very impressed! Have a look at our photos below. What do you think?
