To celebrate International Car Free Day, Cypress Road is hosting a Play Street event. It will be closed to through traffic on the afternoon of Friday 27 September and the road will turn into a playground for all ages. You will not be able to access Cypress Road by car between 2.30 pm and 5.30 pm on Friday 27th of September.
Play Streets are short, stewarded road closures, giving children the chance to play safely near home, but also making the street feel safer and friendlier for everyone. Parents will be responsible for their own children’s safety and behaviour as normal, and for this event, Council and School staff will also be on hand to act as stewards.
This Play Street event is open to everyone. Come and enjoy fun and informative activities for all ages, including a pop up community garden, free Dr. Bike sessions and giant games. The event will be part of Croydon Council and the Mayor of London’s participation in the annual world-wide Car Free Day celebrations.
We look forward to seeing you!
