This week Year 2 have been reading the story ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes. All the classes took on the challenge of creating their own class Iron Man. We thought about what he was made from, the different body parts he had and how big he was. All the children persevered and worked together to get Iron Man completed. We are all really proud of our creations but we are now hoping that they don’t come to life when the school is closed at night! During the week, we put ourselves in the gigantic shoes of Iron Man and acted out how we would get to the scrapyard full of delicious metal. We had a fun week of learning and wrote instructions to help Iron Man find his way to food so that he would not damage cars, trains and anything made of metal.
