CYP LOWER – Rain, Red Noses, Resilience and Rainbows in Little Cypress!

It has been so wonderful watching the children in Little Cypress step straight back in to the routines of the day. We have marvelled at how independent and resilient they all are and how happy they are to see their friends. As staff we have loved having the full cohort back together. Despite some rather inclement weather, we have visited the Adventure Playground, explored our new playhouse in the Nursery playground and investigated so many different activities each day.

We have been working very hard on counting activities and are learning to count accurately by touching each object as we go along. Many children are showing a huge interest in numbers and we were particularly amazed at hearing about a lady called Ethel in a local care home who is turning 100 very soon! We made her a card and each child drew Ethel a picture and did some wonderful writing to wish her a Happy Birthday, thinking carefully of really interesting and uplifting messages.

Some new children have started in Rainbows and have settled in to life at Cypress as if they have always been here! A huge welcome to our new families.

The week ended with Red Nose Day and we had lots of fun being superheroes and telling each other silly jokes. We had an amazing array of masks, capes and superhero outfits, including Ironman, Spiderman, Wonderman, Super James, Superman, Marshall from Paw Patrol and many more!  A big thank you to all the parents and carers for supporting this worthwhile cause. Also a big well done to the children who received a Rainbow Certificate in our assembly today:

Rainbow Certificates 19.03,21  – Rainbow Class: Leena and Max; Nursery: Harry, Luis, Heidi and Febe

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
