CYP LOWER: Red Noses and Resilient learners!

It has been wonderful to see the children back in school this week.  Finally, after a long Winter the sun is shining, the playground is full with happy voices and the classrooms are buzzing with children learning back in school!  Now that everyone is back, our school is really beginning to feel like it should again!  This week we have been considering how perseverance and not giving up when things are difficult, is such an important part of being a great learner.  Throughout the week we have thought about what we can do when we are ‘stuck’, we decided that we can: try again, try a different way or ask our partner. In Rainbow assembly lots of children were celebrated who had shown great perseverance in their writing and learning, I have been looking at the children’s writing outcomes and I have been blown away by the progress that children have made as well as their imagination and creativity

Today was Red Nose Day, thank you to all the families who donated money for Red Nose Day, we raised £270!  I have never seen so may super heroes marching up Cypress Hill, the children looked delightful in their amazing costumes and red noses as did all our staff. We celebrated Red Nose Day in assembly and the children were able to strike a pose to super hero music and cheer our outstanding pupils who had earnt a rainbow certificate this week. In Year 2 the children were wearing the perfect costumes to enjoy their Traction Man celebration day. The writing that they have achieved this week is a credit to them and shows how much they have enjoyed the book and their learning this week.

Many parents and carers have asked me to share the updated school dinners menu, so here is the link. Harrison Menu for Spring Term 2021

Finally, if your employment circumstances have changed during the lockdown, you may be entitled to Free School Meals. Please contact the office to check.

Wishing you a very happy weekend, enjoy the sunshine!
