The weather has certainly changed this week from the last remnants of summer to a definite autumnal feel! We had some rainy days but it didn’t dampen our enthusiasm for learning in Little Cypress. We have all been continuing to learn the routines in Rainbows and Nursery and are remembering how to sit and listen carefully when it is carpet time. We are trying to remember to use our listening ears, our looking eyes and switch our brains on!
We have shown a huge interest in counting and making patterns this week, including printing autumnal patterns with autumn colours and sorting counting equipment in to colours, shapes and similar attributes.
On Friday, there was a fly inside our classroom! We went on a spider hunt to see if we could find a spider to swallow the fly, just like in one of our favourite rhymes: ‘There was an old lady who swallowed a fly’. We did find a few spiders and noticed their intricate webs, which reminded us of another story we love by Eric Carle called ‘The Very Busy Spider’.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
